Keith McKinnell

Distinguished Professor, School of Real Estate and Founder and Managing Director of the Real Estate Academy in China (REACh)

Keith is the Founder and Managing Director of the Real Estate Academy in China (REACh), which primarily focuses on executive and professional development training for real estate and construction professionals and organisations. The Academy offers an array of programs in conjunction with international professional bodies from short-course specialist to tailor-made in-house and study programs overseas. He concurrently holds a number of Visiting Academic positions at the University of Chongqing and Tongji University in China, as well as being a Principal Fellow and Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Prior to setting up the Academy, Keith was Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in the Department of Real Estate & Construction at the University of Hong Kong and was Head of the department for over a decade. He has also served as a Director of the Centre for Real Estate & Urban Economics. During this time, he oversaw the department’s international expansion forming a number of partnerships and joint ventures with other academic institutions in Europe and China.

Professionally, he is a member of the RICS (MRICS); a Fellow of the HKIS and a registered professional surveyor (RPS); a founding member of the China Housing Industry Association and was previously a member of the Town Planning Board of the HKSAR. He is an independent real estate advisor to major institutional clients.
